Updates to Bing Maps V8 release
News|by Leanne Bevan|26 August 2016
With developers in mind, the Microsoft mapping platform has added new features to the release branch of Bing Maps V8 Web control that make integrating maps into apps even easier.
The first update to the main release branch of V8 since its release in June has had a massive addition to the Spatial Math module, with a new total of 47 calculations now available. To make it easy to create custom rendering layers with the map control, new Custom Overlays have been added so developers can easily create and experiment with data visualisations. Custom Shape Pushpins provide improved user experience, while Mercator Map Type enables you to view data in a customised display. GeoJSON and Query API enables individual shape styling for any Pushpin, Polyline or Polygon option. TypeScript definitions are now available on GitHub.
Experience the updates with the Bing Maps Interactive SDK.
