Microsoft recently announced the availability of SQL Server 2016 Service Pack 1 (SP1). This tool will enable users to easily build advanced, scalable applications across SQL Server editions. Users will also be able to build to a common programming surface across all editions when creating or upgrading their intelligent applications.
Benefits include advanced performance, security and data mart capabilities, as well as a consistent platform from on-premises to the cloud with applications of various sizes. The Standard edition provides programming capabilities, security innovations and fast performance mid-tier applications and data marts.
Upgrade to Enterprise edition for more advanced performance and mission-critical workload scalability capabilities, without the need to re-write your application. Users will also be able to take advantage of maximum virtualisation via licensing rights that come along with software assurance.
