Surveil dashboard updates – April 2024
Support|by Kieran Hollingsworth|1 May 2024
There have been several changes to the Surveil platform over the last three weeks that we are excited to share with you.
These changes have been designed to improve your overall experience with the platform, as well as add improved functionality that will help you to manage your costs and deployed infrastructures.
Reserved Instance Usage Analysis tab
The first change we have made is adding additional context to the Azure reserved instance tab by adding a Reserved Instance Usage Analysis tab. This tab now provides details in terms of the following:
- Active vs cancelled reservations
- Compute hours utilisation percentage
- Contract analysis for reserved instances such as how many hours were outside of the reservation discount range

Surveil security costs tab
The next change we have implemented into the Surveil platform relates to the security of your deployed infrastructure. We have now added the Security Costs tab, so that you can view your security costs and visualise how they change over time.
You can see an example what this tab will look like below:

Amendments to the Surveil forecasting tab
Lastly, we have amended the performance tracking/forecasting tab. This will now clearly visualise if your Azure spend is increasing against either your 3-month average or against all of the spend data collected previously. You'll see examples of what each of these forecasts will look like below:
Surveil forecast based on the previous three months of billing
Surveil forecast based on all billing data known
