JetBrains Space Discontinued | Introducing SpaceCode
News|by Leanne Bevan|29 May 2024
JetBrains created Space, an all-in-one solution to provide everything a company needs for software development, including projects, Git hosting, code reviews, issue tracking, and communication features for organisations.
Market Response to Space
However, since the launch of Space, JetBrains has found that many organisations have unique requirements, processes, systems, and third-party tools that they want Space to integrate with. This did not align with JetBrains’ vision of Space and adoption was low.
Because of this, JetBrains has decided to discontinue Space and pivot to some of the most appreciated features with a product that focuses on Git hosting and code reviews. As well as integrations with YouTrack and TeamCity. This new product SpaceCode is in private review.
How the changes affect JetBrains Space customers
As of 28 May 2024, JetBrains will no longer sell new subscriptions or renewals for Space. They will continue to provide technical support and critical updates through 31 May 2025.
Depending on your current Space plan and subscription, you’ll be able to proceed according to one of the following options:
Space customers with an annual subscription (Cloud and On-Premises)
- You can opt into SpaceCode Preview for Git hosting and code reviews. For project management and CI/CD solutions, JetBrains will provide you with complimentary 12-month TeamCity and YouTrack subscriptions.
- To compensate you for migrating certain parts of your data outside of Space, JetBrains will extend your current Space subscription until 31 May 2025, regardless of when your subscription expires.
Space customers with a monthly subscription
- You can opt into SpaceCode Preview for Git hosting and code reviews. For project management and CI/CD solutions, JetBrains will provide complimentary 12-month TeamCity and YouTrack subscriptions.
- To compensate you for migrating certain parts of your data outside of Space, JetBrains will extend your current Space subscription until 30 November 2024, regardless of when your subscription expires.

Location intelligence is no longer a feature bolted onto asset‑centric platforms. In 2026, it’s core application infrastructure.
