RAD Studio and AI
Blog|by Leanne Bevan|31 July 2025

Over the last few years you’ve no doubt seen that AI has propelled to the forefront and is the most talked about tech trend. Despite concerns for jobs and cyber security, there are numerous benefits. Most notably amplified productivity. This is especially good for developers – both in terms saving time coding and with regards to integrating AI into apps to enhance user experience. Below we’ve collated all the key resources on Embarcadero’s use of AI. Discover how to reap the benefits of RAD Studio and AI for yourself.
RAD Studio and AI features and resources
Smart CodeInsight
To help you leverage AI LLMs for coding Embarcadero’s RAD Studio 12.2 introduced an open architecture API called Smart CodeInsight for AI plugins, offering ready-to-use support for three online solutions (OpenAI, Gemini by Google, and Claude by Anthropic) and one offline solution (Ollama). What’s great about this is that it’s disabled by default and can switch on whichever ones you want. There’s even a locally installed, offline solution for maximum privacy. This API allows you to integrate additional AI engines and also to create a custom UI for one of them.
RAD Studio 12.3 further improves the AI features by adding UI extensions, a better chat experience and AI-related editor commands. For instance the Chat window now supports Markdown – a formatted and more readable output that allows reading editor content and the option to send results to the Markdown-enabled Chat window rather than the editor itself for enhanced formatting.
Embarcadero plans to expand their AI features more in the future. So watch this space.
