JetBrains Qodana is now SOC 2 certified
News|by Kieran Hollingsworth|16 April 2025
JetBrains has furthered its commitment to security and privacy for its users by achieving SOC 2 certification for code quality platform, Qodana.
What is SOC 2?
SOC 2, or Systems and Organisation Controls 2, is a security framework by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants that outlines how you should protect your data from unauthorised access, security breaches and any other vulnerabilities.
We covered SOC 2 in more detail in our top 10 cyber security frameworks blog. We discussed how it’s a must-have if you store customer data in the cloud, and went over the five criteria that make up the framework.
Qodana’s SOC 2 compliance signifies that JetBrains makes your security its top priority and highlights its proactive approach to further improving security. This gives you peace of mind that your data will be safe while using Qodana.
Why is SOC 2 certification important?
According to a government survey, half of UK businesses reported experiencing some form of cyber security breach or attack in 2024.
As we covered during Cyber Security Awareness Month last year, cyber threats are a constant concern. You need tools that make safeguarding your personal information a top priority. JetBrains has shown it does just that, with this certification displaying a commitment to safeguarding your information with strict security measures.
And safeguarding your information is one of the key benefits of Qodana. By running all analysis in your CI/CD system, you just need to ensure your CI/CD instance is properly secured to avoid your data ending up in the wrong hands.
JetBrains plans to continue the momentum by making further investments into its infrastructure to protect businesses like yours from data breaches and unauthorised access.
Why use Qodana?
JetBrains Qodana helps your team to follow agreed quality standards, and deliver readable, maintainable, and secure code, reporting codebase problems, and suggesting automatic fixes on the fly. And being on the JetBrains ecosystem, Qodana supports most popular languages, development frameworks and CI/CD integrations.
Qodana offers a range of benefits from reduced maintenance costs due to the reduced time and resource required for maintenance and support, to enabling faster development cycles by ensuring clean, well-structured code.
