GFI LANguard 2014 R2 launched
News|16 May 2014
GFI LanGuard is a network security scanner that scans your network and ports to detect, assess and correct security vulnerabilities with minimal administrative effort. GFI LanGuard 2014 R2 introduces numerous new features, including:
- Mobile devices scanning enhancements – Support for Office 365, Google Apps and Apple Profiles Manager: In addition to support for Microsoft Exchange servers introduced in previous version, in GFI LanGuard 2014 R2 customers can scan mobile devices that connect to Office 365, Google Apps and Apple Profiles Manager.
- Extend support for network devices vulnerability assessment – A network is as vulnerable as its weakest point and therefore network devices such are routers, printers and switches must not be neglected. To the Cisco and HP devices supported in previous versions, GFI LanGuard 2014 R2 adds support for vulnerability assessment of the devices from the following vendors: 3Com, Dell, SonicWALL, Juniper, NETGEAR, Nortel, Alcatel, IBM, Linksys and D-Link.
- Linux patch management – Support for Fedora: Starting with LanGuard 2014 R2, Fedora is 7th Linux distribution supported by LanGuard for automatic patch management.
This release also marks a change from perpetual licencing to subscription licensing where the product must be renewed in order for continued use. For more information on these important licensing changes, or the new features, visit our GFI LanGuard product page or contact us today.
