Do more with less with Microsoft 365
Blog|by Alanna|16 February 2023
We know that the current economic environment is challenging and many of our customers are tightening their purse strings. Given these challenges, it’s more important than ever for businesses to explore new ways of innovating to drive efficiency and bring costs down which for many, has led to the adoption of Microsoft 365 as their principle modern work solution.
The brave new post-pandemic world we now find ourselves in, where hybrid working has become the norm for so many businesses, presents new challenges. It requires businesses to reassess not only their IT estate, but also how teams can remain both productive and collaborative.
What does it mean to do more with less?
Doing more with less is not about stripping back your business to the bare bones. It’s about using technology efficiently and harmonising the relationship between all areas of a business. To enable you to not only do more, but sell more and collaborate more, with less. ‘Less’ is not necessarily about severe cutbacks, but it is about being smarter with existing resources and identifying consolidation opportunities.
Our resident Microsoft 365 product expert, Adam Blackwell, has recently hosted a webinar to explain how, considering the upcoming Microsoft price increases, businesses can look for these opportunities to do more with less. Boost collaboration, consolidate software, save time
Microsoft 365 brings together best in class tools and programmes to meet this new age of hybrid working and constant collaboration. A recent Forrester survey showed that 70% of workers at SMBs collaborate daily with colleagues in different locations, and over half rely on technology to support that collaboration.
This technology combines tools to enable seamless file sharing, email, chat, as well as key programmes like Word and Excel. Microsoft 365 removes the need for a patchwork of costly unconnected solutions and was found in Forrester’s survey to improve user productivity by 1 hour weekly per employee. This allows for easy management by IT managers – saving your business valuable time and reducing technology costs via consolidation of solutions.
Microsoft recently commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct a Total Economic Impact study of deploying Microsoft 365 in nine businesses. Some of the benefits uncovered were:
- Improved efficiency of IT teams by 4 hours weekly per team member
- Reduced travel costs by $900 annually per travelling employee
- Avoided $29 per employee per month on technology costs
Another key benefit is the shift from capex to opex. Through Microsoft 365’s ongoing, subscription-based pricing, customers did not have to make large, upfront payments for systems investment, freeing up cash, allowing greater potential for scalability and making it easier to predict related costs.
