Barracuda Acquired by Thoma Bravo in $1.6 Billion Deal

Barracuda Networks, Inc., a company renowned for being a leading provider of on-premise and cloud security and data protection solutions, have announced that they have accepted an agreement to be acquired by Thoma Bravo, LLC – a leading private equity investment firm.
Following this $1.6 billion all-cash transaction, it has been said that Barracuda will “operate as a privately-held company with a continued focus on email security and management, network and application security, and data protection solutions that can be deployed in cloud and hybrid environments.”
The transaction is expected to close before February 28th 2018, and is subject to approval by Barracuda’s shareholders and regulator authorities.
