Adobe unveils Firefly, a family of new creative generative AI
News|by Leanne Bevan|13 April 2023
What is Firefly?
Adobe has launched Firefly, a new family of generative AI models. Firefly brings precision, power, speed, and ease to Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Adobe Express workflows.
Adobe and AI
Firefly primarily focuses on generating images and text effects and will be part of a series of new Adobe Sensei generative AI services. Adobe has a long history of AI innovation, delivering hundreds of intelligent capabilities through Adobe Sensei into applications; hundreds of millions rely upon these services.
What can you create with Firefly?
Firefly gives all creators superpowers to work at the speed of their imaginations. Everyone who creates content, regardless of their experience or skill, will be able to use their own words to generate content from images, audio, vectors, videos, and 3D to creative ingredients. This includes brushes, color gradients, and video transformations, with greater speed and ease than ever before.
Adobe integrates Firefly directly into its industry-leading tools and services. Users can then effortlessly leverage the power of generative AI within their existing workflows.
Firefly AI models
Firefly is made up of multiple models. Each of the models is tailored to serve customers with a wide array of skill sets and technical backgrounds, working across a variety of different use cases.
Adobe's first model is trained on Adobe Stock images, openly licensed content, and public domain content where the copyright has expired. The model focuses on images and text effects and is designed to generate content safe for commercial use. Adobe Stock's hundreds of millions of professional-grade, licensed images are among the highest quality in the market. They help ensure Firefly won't generate content based on other people's or brands' IPs.
