New updates to the New Commerce Experience Handbook
News|by Kieran Hollingsworth|3 November 2023
As of 3 November 2023, there are new updates to the New Commerce Experience (NCE) Handbook, which will affect all partners who sell Microsoft products and services through the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) program.
The NCE Handbook is a valuable learning tool for partners. It covers various aspects of the NCE, including the provisioning, billing, and subscription management processes. As well as guidance to help partners transition from the legacy CSP experience to the NCE.
The NCE Handbook’s new updates centre around new exceptions to the cancellation of licenses for partners selling Microsoft products through the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program.
This update aims to clarify the process and criteria for requesting a review or reconsideration of cancellations that were denied due to exceptional circumstances. Examples of when you may want to submit for review or reconsideration include:
- Incorrect purchases
- Duplicate orders
- Changes in partner/billing agreements (for example a customer moving from one CSP to another)
- Technical issues which can be traced back to Microsoft’s systems or services
If you want to make a request for a review or reconsideration of cancellations, your request should be submitted within two billing cycles of the attempted cancellation.
The new updates will not affect the standard cancellation policy and process already in place. To make a request, you can submit a ticket in Partner Center, and Microsoft will respond with further guidance along with a final decision on your request.
