Faster C++ Code Completion in RAD Studio 10.3 Rio
Blog|by Leanne Bevan|22 January 2019

In Embarcadero’s latest release, RAD Studio 10.3 Rio, vast improvements have been made for the C++ community.
For instance, the C++ Code Completion feature is much faster. It provides significantly better quality completion results in less time, and it is asynchronous – you can carry on typing as it calculates the results.
There are a number of new C++ compilers that you can take advantage of, C++17 win32 support, improved debugging and new libraries. In addition to enhancements to VCL for High DPI displays, updated support is available for Android API26 and iOS12, plus much more.
If you are new to C++ or development as a whole, download a free trial. Give it a go and let us know what you think! We’d love to share the feedback with the community.
C++ is a great language to use for development and is still very popular despite being in its 35th year.
Here’s what existing users think of RAD Studio and C++Builder from feedback from a recent developer survey we conducted:
“Fast, easy to use.”
“Very easy to set up forms. Love the idea of being able to cross-compile, but not been able to convert existing applications yet.”
Benefits: “Speed, code readability.”
“Well organised. Easy to use.”
“The ability to target multiple platforms with a common codebase is extremely valuable.”
For an overview of the other new features in RAD Studio 10.3 Rio, see here.
If you already use RAD Studio, C++Builder, or Delphi 10.3, we’d love to know what your favourite features are and why – let us know in the comments.

Native performance – why it still wins in a cross-platform world
Cross-platform development has never been stronger. Modern frameworks let teams ship applications across Windows, macOS, iOS and Android from a shared codebase – faster, leaner and with fewer moving parts. But when performance is part of the product, portability alone isn’t enough. If...
Location Intelligence as application infrastructure
Location intelligence is no longer a feature bolted onto asset‑centric platforms. In 2026, it’s core application infrastructure. As asset tracking moves beyond logistics into regulated, distributed and high‑value environments, software teams need location intelligence that delivers real‑world context, not just coordinates. This shift is redefining how modern applications manage risk, automation and scale.
