Migrating from Bing Maps to Azure Maps

Important Update: Transition from Bing Maps for Enterprise to Azure Maps
Last year on May 21, 2024, Microsoft shared their vision for a single enterprise mapping platform under the Azure Maps brand and that Bing Maps for Enterprise will be retired on June 30, 2028.
Customers using Bing Maps for Enterprise Basic or Free accounts will be unable to use Bing Maps for Enterprise services beyond June 30, 2025, which is why we’ve put this guide together to help you weigh your options and speak with our mapping specialists about your best route for migration.
What are my options?
Unless an Enterprise license is purchased, the ability to purchase Bing Maps for Enterprise SKUs and the availability of Bing Maps for Enterprise services will end according to the following timeline:
- June 30, 2025: Customers using Bing Maps for Enterprise Basic or Free accounts will no longer be able to use Bing Maps for Enterprise services beyond this date.
- Transition to Azure Maps: Basic/Free account customers who would like to continue using enterprise maps from Microsoft are encouraged to move to Azure Maps before June 30, 2025.
- Upgrade Option: Existing Basic/Free account customers who would like to continue using Bing Maps for Enterprise until the service date of June 30, 2028, can upgrade to a paid Enterprise License by contacting [email protected] before June 30, 2025.

Next Steps
We're asking existing Bing Maps for Enterprise customers to consider migrating to Azure Maps before the deadlines stated above. This will give you and your teams ample time to transition your applications as smoothly as possible with minimal disruptions to service.
