GitHub creates public roadmap
News|27 August 2020
GitHub has created a public repo providing everything you need to know about their planned roadmap for releasing new features and functionality.
Giving users more visibility on what GitHub is building and when they are going to ship it, the public roadmap has two main benefits:
- You can plan your own projects better with knowledge of what GitHub has in the pipeline
- Share feedback earlier and influence their builds
Split into calendar year quarters, the project board lays out upcoming releases. Each release links to a detailed issue with more info like why it’s important, when it’s coming and how it’s expected to work. You can also subscribe to individual roadmap issues to get notifications of changes within GitHub.
GitHub will also continue to shared product announcements at events and in blog posts.
