Blog|by Kieran Hollingsworth|24 April 2025
To help make developers like you more productive and efficient, JetBrains has recently announced a series of product and licensing updates.
It’s no secret that AI has hit software development like a storm, revolutionising the industry and leading to innovation on an unprecedented scale. JetBrains is enabling the next wave of fresh innovation with its updated AI tools and subscriptions.
We’ll cover off the latest announcements below.
JetBrains Junie now generally available
Having first released Junie in early access in January this year, JetBrains has now made the powerful AI coding agent publicly available to all JetBrains IDE users.
The latest version of Junie has received a number of updates designed to improve its output and turn it into a fully-fledged pair programmer.
Beyond just upping your productivity, Junie can answer your questions, propose plans, and even follow your development guidelines. Now, Junie raises the bar for code quality, enhancing the standard of your code and giving you more time to review complex issues and focus on the bigger picture.

Improvements to AI Assistant in JetBrains IDEs
JetBrains AI Assistant has also received a series of updates, based on your feedback. These improvements will make AI Assistant even more intuitive and powerful, introducing many hotly anticipated features.
The new version of JetBrains AI Assistant offers enhanced code completion, greater context awareness for more accurate suggestions tailored to your projects, and a new edit mode.
This edit mode will enable seamless multi-file edits direct from the chat interface. It’s now easier to apply complex changes, refactor code, and streamline maintenance while keeping full control of your project.
AI Assistant’s new update has been designed to offer you smarter support across your workflow, providing a smoother and more efficient experience.
