New release: RAD Studio 13.1 Florence
News|by Leanne Bevan|24 March 2026

What's new in RAD Studio 13.1 Florence?
The latest version of Embarcadero's RAD Studio is here. This release focuses on future-proofing your development environment, streamlining the design process, and ensuring your applications meet the latest Google and Apple mobile store requirements.
Here are the highlights of what's new:
1. Native Windows on Arm (Delphi)
The most significant addition to this new release is the native Delphi Arm64EC compiler.
The benefit: You can now build high-performance, native applications for the growing market of Windows on Arm devices (such as Copilot+ PCs) using your existing Delphi codebase. Because it uses the Arm64EC ABI, you can mix native Arm code with existing x64 binaries, meaning you aren't blocked if some of your third-party libraries haven't been ported to Arm yet.
2. Modernised UI and styling workflow
Several updates aim to reduce the "design friction" often found in cross-platform development:
New FireMonkey (FMX) style designer: This is a standalone tool that moves away from granular object editing to a design-centric workflow.
The benefit: It allows you to manage colours, typography, and interaction states across all platforms much faster, helping you create modern-looking apps with significantly less manual effort.
Windows 11 VCL styles: Six new high-quality Windows 11 styles (Modern, Dark, SlateGray, etc.) have been added.
The benefit: You can modernise the look and feel of legacy VCL applications instantly, ensuring they look native and professional on the latest Windows OS without rewriting the UI.
3. Enhanced IDE productivity
The IDE has received several "quality of life" upgrades designed to keep you in the "flow" of coding:
Integrated Parnassus bookmarks:
The popular Parnassus navigation tool is now built directly into the IDE.
The benefit: You get a much more powerful way to navigate large units. With a dedicated tool window and automatic numbering, you can jump between code sections far more efficiently than with the old standard bookmarks.
DelphiLSP with LSIF support:
The Language Server Protocol now supports the Language Server Index Format.
The benefit: Code Insight, navigation, and "Find References" are now significantly faster and more stable. The IDE is less likely to lag or "freeze" while indexing large projects, leading to a much smoother coding experience.
4. Mandatory platform compliance
To keep your apps on the major app stores, RAD Studio 13.1 provides the necessary under-the-hood updates:
Android API Level 36.1:
You can get full support for the latest Android requirements.
iOS 26 Support:
RAD Studio is compatible with the latest Apple SDKs.
The benefit: You can meet the August 2026 Google Play Store submission deadlines and Apple’s latest requirements without having to manually "hack" configuration files or manifest templates.
5. Robust C++ development
C++Builder developers see a continued push towards modern standards:
Clang 20 and C++23 support: The "Modern" 64-bit compiler has been further stabilised and updated.
The benefit: You can use the latest C++ language features and benefit from improved compile times and better compatibility with modern C++ libraries.
6. Improved high DPI design
The VCL Form Designer now includes an option to save forms at 96 DPI regardless of the your monitor resolution.
The benefit: This eliminates the common headache where "form drifting" occurs when multiple developers on a team use different monitor scaling settings. Your UI layouts will remain consistent and predictable across the entire development team.

Location Intelligence as application infrastructure
Location intelligence is no longer a feature bolted onto asset‑centric platforms. In 2026, it’s core application infrastructure. As asset tracking moves beyond logistics into regulated, distributed and high‑value environments, software teams need location intelligence that delivers real‑world context, not just coordinates. This shift is redefining how modern applications manage risk, automation and scale.
