Embarcadero has released the Delphi 12 and C++Builder 12 Community Editions. These are free, full-featured versions of their popular IDEs, aimed at startups, students, and hobbyists.
Key features include:
- Multi-platform development: Build applications for iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS.
- Visual frameworks and components: Utilise RAD Studio’s tools for creating styled UIs.
- Innovations: Includes the new Clang toolchain in C++Builder, support for the latest Android versions in Delphi, and Skia FireMonkey support.
Who can use the Community Editions?
The Community Editions are available for developers and organisations with annual revenues under $5,000 and teams of up to five developers. It's great for students who want to get started using a new language/platform, for startups who need to save funds, and for hobbyists who want to have a tinker for fun.
