Glantus is an independent software vendor (ISV) with a unique data platform that supports businesses worldwide transform their finance function through data.
Objective
After their acquisition of an American company, Glantus realised that to continue supporting their international growth they needed to streamline their IT infrastructure to become more efficient and secure. Due to the acquisition, they had two separate Microsoft 365 Business Premium tenants.
As Grey Matter is a cloud solutions provider who focuses on supporting ISVs and technology-led companies, Glantus chose us to carry out the project due to our specialist experience.
After discussions with our professional services division Cloud Know How, it was agreed that we would consolidate Glantus’ Microsoft 365 tenants to allow billing through one tenant.
Solution
We proposed a project of two phases, in order to carry out the work of migrating Glantus’ user data from its’ US tenant to its Ireland tenant for easy management.
The first phase comprised of creating a setup that was aligned to Microsoft best practice. We assessed Glantus’ existing tenant and made adjustments which built upon Glantus’ existing configuration and security measures. This included deploying Microsoft's enterprise cloud-based identity and access management solution Azure AD, Microsoft Intune for mobile device management, Bitlocker for data encryption and Multi-Factor Authentication. Test users were created to make sure that all policies were working as they should.
Once Glantus was happy with the tenant setup, the data was migrated from the US tenant to the Ireland tenant and user licences were assigned. The migration included data from Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Exchange Online mailboxes, and Teams Phone Systems which are all part of Microsoft 365 Business Premium.
Outcomes
By leveraging Grey Matter’s expertise supporting ISVs and implementing Microsoft technologies, Glantus now has one secure Microsoft 365 tenant for both their Irish and US business which has positively impacted their growth and aspirations for efficiency and productivity.
As well as improving efficiency by allowing billing through one tenant, Glantus also continues to benefit from the collaboration features within Microsoft 365 Premium.

Guestline provides SaaS solutions to the hospitality industry. Their solutions enable hotel groups and independents of all sizes to achieve maximum occupancy at the most profitable rate. Based in the UK, they’re now growing revenues in 25 countries.
Objective
Guestline wanted to move to a new Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) that delivered enhanced guidance, better project support and improved cost savings.
Solution
Our services team completed the transfer from Guestline’s old CSP to Grey Matter and then conducted an in-depth Azure health check and cost analysis assessment.
The team reviewed Guestline’s existing deployment plans alongside growth aspirations and were able to identify and recommend the most applicable and efficient Azure resources.
Over £250,000 of savings per year were identified from the cost analysis assessments. Over £50,000 was from dormant resources and the rest related to commitment-based licenses and reservations.
The team recommended leveraging Azure Hybrid Benefits for Windows and SQL environments, as well as rightsizing for Virtual Machines, containers and databases.
Guestline completed the original move to Azure to drive operational efficiencies and commercial gains. Not having to build and maintain their own infrastructure gave them better agility and improve their bottom line.
Guestline were so impressed with the Grey Matter service they extended their relationship by moving all their corporate IT licensing, such as Office 365 and Microsoft Dynamics, over to Grey Matter. They also moved licences for developer tools outside of the Microsoft eco-system such as Jetbrains to Grey Matter.
Outcomes
Partnering with Grey Matter as a CSP gave Guestline greater peace of mind and the ability to work more dynamically, provisioning resources for products as and when needed. The cost analysis assessment meant that overall we were able to reduce Guestline’s Azure expenditure by nearly 90%.
